ECACOMSIG (or "SIG9") is the ECA's Special Interest Group that promotes all aspects of Computing in Crystallography. As such, its activities are central to most of the other SIGs in the ECA.

ECACOMSIG works closely with the International Union of Crystallography's Commission on Crystallographic Computing ("CompComm") to organise Microsymposia at meetings of the ECA and the IUCr and to organise Schools for developers and potential developers in computational methods for Crystallography.

We are organising a "Crystallographic Computing Forum" aimed at people who have an interest in developing new software; it will be held before ECM31 at the Mieres campus of Universidad de Oviedo in Asturias, Spain, from 18th to 22nd August - details here.

The Software Fayre organised by Martin Lutz will take place daily at ECM31 itself in Oviedo, every day during the meeting between 1230 and 1345. This will provide an opportunity to see and take part in software demonstrations; details of which software will be on show will appear on the ECM31 website nearer the time.
